A day without writing

Going one day without writing anything couldn’t be so bad, right?  Well, actually for me it is.  My prose gets lazy if I skip a day, my word count goes down, and my motivation stalls like a car with a bad battery in the middle of winter.  It takes me days to get back to where I was before I skipped that one day.

I skipped yesterday for what were good reasons at the time (or good excuses) but I am paying for it now.  I am squirming in my seat because ever word I type plods along instead of flowing freely.  I write them all anyway because if I don’t then tomorrow it will be worse.
